The advantage of a twin tank water softener is that when one tank needs to regenerate, it automatically switches to the other one, providing an endless supply of softened water. Larger households may sometimes use more water than a single tank can provide, requiring regeneration during use. This process can take 80-90 minutes and softened water will not be available until completed.
